Job Description:
Midland Metal Products is looking for an experienced, hands-on, motivated individual to become a facilities maintenance engineer in our 100,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility. Applicants must possess first-hand experience with fabrication/manufacturing equipment and their associated functions such as: punch and brake presses, laser cutting equipment, welding equipment, material handling devices and equipment, power tools, etc. Experience in a "just in time" manufacturing environment and credentials confirming such are absolutely required. Personal Attributes: - Motivated - Experienced -Safe and clean work habits - Reliable - Organized - High level of accuracy and attention to detail - Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment -Results-driven -Exceptional communication and teamwork skills. -Bilingual a plus. Skills & Responsibilities: -Work with Maintenance Vendors -Activating and deactivating building alarms and responding to alarm calls along with any other emergencies after and during regular work hours. -HVAC basic function and maintenance. -Mastery of hand and power tools. Machining or tool room experience a plus. -Mechanical ability. -Carpentry. -Hydraulic systems. -Welding and basic metal fabrication -Electrical and electronic skills are necessary. Must be able to read schematics. Trouble-shooting skills are critical. -Equipment installation skills, rigging, moving techniques. Provide installation of various power sources, electrical, hydraulic, Pneumatic, Computer networking, etc. -Forklift, manlift, overhead crane experience. -Oversee outsourced vendor activity, ensuring Sourcing policies and procedures are followed, and that the work is performed properly -Perform special projects as assigned. Engage in renovations and upgrades. -Enforce Company and OSHA safety programs. -Familiarity with maintaining manufacturing initiatives such as "5S" -Generate work orders, record keeping -Maintain a Preventative Maintenance program consistent with ISO 9001 practices. Requirements: -Must have basic computer skills. -On-call availability for emergencies. -Must have a high school degree plus at least 2 years of technical or college level education. -Some physical exertion both inside the building and outside on the property such as reaching, stretching, carrying, bending, lifting, walking, climbing stairs, driving, snow removal, etc. during winter, spring, summer and fall weather conditions. -Must pass background check -Must pass D&A screening upon employment and subsequent random screening.
