Job Description:
Facilities Maintenance Manager Position Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for the hands-on implementation of the building maintenance program, protecting and improving the value of the Theatre’s facilities assets, ensuring building systems continue to perform their intended function, and supporting the built environment for all occupants. This individual interacts with other employees and outside vendors, and helps to support the Goodman’s artistic work. This is a full time, salaried position with a complete benefits package. Qualified candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including occasional night and weekend shifts for performance coverage. Position Responsibilities: 1st level of response for all facilities issues; Serve as the first point of escalation for major facilities issues and emergencies Manage in-house staff of facilities technicians and outsourced service providers Oversee and implement a best practice planned maintenance program using CMMS Make recommendations for improvement of quality control to minimize critical system downtime Align tasks with the objectives set in the capital renewal plan and drive to completion Communicate building related issues effectively with management and coworkers Collaborate with building service vendors; provide assistance as needed Perform and coordinate maintenance and operation of building systems and occupant services Coordinate maintenance and capital improvement projects as needed Provide detailed documentation, reporting and record keeping of all maintenance Administer the building automation system and computerized maintenance management system Develop and monitor the annual operating budget; prepare and submit purchase orders requests Implement health and safety program for facilities department Ensure an adequate inventory of tools, supplies and parts required to maintain the building All other duties as assigned Experience and Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing commercial building maintenance and projects; experience in a theatre or live entertainment venue highly preferred Associate Degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent work experience; industry certifications and licenses (SMT, SMA, BOC, CFC); OSHA safety training Knowledge and experience of best industry practices including: reliability centered maintenance, safety standards, energy management practices, and cost-effective solutions Strong verbal and written communication skills Proven critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills Ability to supervise, motivate and mentor personnel Ability to foster and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders MS Office, BAS and CMMS software experience required Capable of performing physical labor, maneuvering 60 lbs. or more, negotiating ladders, working from heights of up to 30 feet, and working from unusual angles to fix equipment Ability to read and interpret construction documents, general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Goodman Theatre is an equal opportunity employer and considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender and its expression, national origin, age, disability, marital or veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected status.
